Simply put, the weather conditions you will experience will depend mostly on the time of the year that you plan on<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuscojourneys.com\/lares-trek-4-days-3-nights\"><strong> trekking to Machu Picchu<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">When it\u2019s summer almost everywhere in the southern hemisphere, the wet season starts on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuscojourneys.com\/inca-trail-to-machu-picchu-4-days-3-nights\"><strong>the<\/strong> <strong>Inca Trail Trek<\/strong><\/a>. The overall temperature rises during the wet season, but the thing to note here is that while days can be sunny, the rain coupled with potential winds can make the temperature drop quite significantly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Considering the remote area, <strong>the Inca Trail<\/strong> traverses, the altitude, and the fact that there are forests all around, hikers should be aware that once the sun sets, the temperature usually drops very quickly. Just to give you an idea, the average weather conditions on the Inca Trail are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In the dry season (April \u2013 October), you can expect day temperatures between <strong>20 \u2013 25\u00baC (68 \u2013 77\u00baF)<\/strong> and night temperatures between &#8211;<strong>1 \u2013 7\u00baC (30 \u2013 44\u00baF).<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">In the wet season (November \u2013 March), the day temperature varies somewhere between <strong>17 \u2013 22\u00baC (62 \u2013 72\u00baF)<\/strong>, and night temperature between <strong>4 \u2013 7\u00baC (39 \u2013 44\u00baF).<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>What\u2019s the best time to hike the Inca Trail?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The rainy season is less popular with trekkers, as there are more chances of rain, which makes the trek even harder. The months to avoid are usually January and March. In February the <strong>Inca Trail<\/strong> is closed for the whole month to help maintain the trail and to develop more security on <strong>the trail for hikers<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">April, November, December offer good chances of completing a successful hike, but the possibility of rainfall remains.
