What is the Inca Jungle Trek to Machu picchu?<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe Inca Jungle is one of the most astonishing alternative routes to Machu Picchu<\/strong>, where you can enjoy thrilling activities on your way to the Machu Picchu citadel.<\/span><\/p>\n

How long is the Inca Jungle trek?<\/strong><\/span>
\nUsually, the duration of this Inca Jungle trek<\/strong><\/a> covers a period of four days and three nights. However, an alternative of three days and two nights is also available.<\/span><\/p>\n

The length of the hike can be adjusted based on your time constraints and, to a lesser extent, your physical condition.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the difference between the 3-day and the 4-day tour?<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe most well-known Inca Jungle trail is the 4-day tour, which is the complete tour with all the activities that we mentioned before. However, for people who do not have enough time to explore the 4-day tour, there is a short version of the Inca Jungle Trail<\/strong><\/a> that offers the same adventures as the longest version.<\/span><\/p>\n

The only difference is that on the 3-day tour, you will skip the hiking section and reach the next town to continue your way to Machu Picchu. Below, you will see the difference between these two tours.<\/span><\/p>\n

4-day Inca Jungle Trek.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"4-dayDay 1.- Cusco \u2013 Habra Malaga \u2013 Huamanmarca \u2013 Santa Maria.<\/strong><\/span>
\nDriving from Cusco to the beginning of the biking, located at 4,300 meters (14,107 feet), and descending for about 3 hours to reach Humanmarca town, then driving to Santa Maria, where after lunch you\u2019ll enjoy the white water rafting for a few hours. Spend the night there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 2.- Santa Maria \u2013 Quellomayo \u2013 Cocalmayo \u2013 Santa Teresa.<\/strong><\/span>
\nWe hike for about 8 hours (15 km\/9.3 miles) through the jungle, visiting some local farms, then hike on the Inca Trail to reach the hot spring and relax the afternoon there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3.- Santa Teresa \u2013 Hidroelectrica \u2013 Aguas Calientes.<\/strong><\/span>
\nWe fly in the zipline for a few hours, then drive to Hydroelectrica, where we start the hike beside the railway to reach Aguas Caliente town (3 hours hike \/ 10 km).<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 4.- Aguas Calientes \u2013 Machu Picchu \u2013 Cusco.<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe most important day where you will visit Machu Picchu nowadays is the New Seven Wonders of the World. In the afternoon, you will return to Cusco.<\/span><\/p>\n

3-day Inca Jungle Trek.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"3-dayDay 1.- Cusco \u2013 Abra Malaga \u2013 Huamanmarca \u2013 Santa Maria \u2013 Santa Teresa.<\/strong><\/span>
\nDrive from Cusco to the highest point on this tour, then begin your descent into the high Peruvian jungle. In the afternoon, raft for a few hours and take the bus to Santa Teresa, where you will spend the night. You have the option to relax at the hot spring if there is enough time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 2.- Santa Teresa \u2013 Hidrolectrica \u2013 Aguas Clientes.<\/strong><\/span>
\nHave fun flying on the zipline for a couple hours and board the bus to Hidroelectrica, where the hike begins to reach Aguas Calientes town.<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 3.- Aguas Calientes \u2013 Machu Picchu \u2013 Cusco.<\/strong><\/span>
\nEarly in the morning, you will reach Machu Picchu to explore and enjoy the stunning views. During the afternoon, you will return to Cusco.<\/span><\/p>\n

Inca Jungle Trek Altitude and Route Maps.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

From here, there are several checkpoints which lead hikers and tourists to Machu Picchu (2,430m \/ 7,972 ft) and finally the return trip to Cusco (3,399m \/ 11,151 ft).<\/span><\/p>\n

Where do you Sleep on he Inca Jungle Trail?<\/strong><\/span>
\nAccommodation on the Inca jungle trek is usually in a hostal or hotel. Hostales in the towns along the way are generally very basic but there are a few nice options.<\/span><\/p>\n

In general, you will have access to electricity and hot water.. On the last night, you will stay in a 3 star hotel in Aguas Calientes.<\/span><\/p>\n
