Hidden away on the Lambarri-Orihuela family’s lush, greenery-filled private estate in the village of Huayoccari in the Sacred Valley of the Incas<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Location<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
\nThe Huayoccari hacienda is located in the heart of the sacred valley, 60 km from the city of Cusco<\/strong>.<\/span>
\nLocated between Pisac and Urubamba, exactly is the Quebrada de Urquillos, which can be seen extending towards the valley from the windows of the Casa Nueva of the Hacienda Huayoccari.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lambarri Orihuela family<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"LambarriDuring the Colony these crops were grown in estates, or haciendas. The Hacienda Huayoccari once comprised three thousand hectares of mountains, lakes and farmland. Don Jos\u00e9 Orihuela Y\u00e1bar – whose family had been landowners in the Sacred Valley<\/strong><\/a> since the 18th century – purchased it from the Montes de Peralta family in 1916. The patriarch Don Jos\u00e9 Orihuela became a pioneer in white corn exportation, as well as mayor of Urubamba, congressman for the region and columnist in several Lima newspapers. <\/span>
\nHe was also a passionate art collector. His daughter Mar\u00eda Cristina Orihuela and her husband, Jes\u00fas Lambarri, kept this legacy alive, in agriculture, politics, art and philanthropy. Jes\u00fas Lambarri created the white corn farmers cooperative for the exportation of this crop. <\/span><\/p>\n
