New Circuits in Machu Picchu
New circuits in Machu Picchu, starting this June 1st, Machu Picchu will have new circuits for tourist visit to Machu Picchu, and during the high season, there will be a stricter policy with only 30 minutes of tolerance for your designated circuit.
Important update on the Circuits in Machu Picchu
The Peruvian Ministry of Culture has recently implemented a significant change in the number of circuits available to visitors to Machu Picchu. Starting June 1, 2024, the number of circuits will be reduced from five to three. This modification aims to improve the overall visitor experience at the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
Rationale behind the change
This adjustment seeks to optimize the flow of visitors and safeguard the integrity of one of the most visited cultural heritage sites in the world. It also prioritizes the safety of tourists and the archaeological park itself, as recommended by UNESCO after being declared one of the 7 wonders.
According to the new published regulations, those who have purchased tickets before this date must adjust their plans according to a conversion table that details the new itineraries.
