1.- Punta Sal (Tumbes Region)
Punta Sal beach is the best in Peru, when it comes to a typical beach retreat. Here the sun shines almost every day of the year and the beaches have incredibly fine sand. The warm waters are teeming with marine life thanks to the currents of cold and warm water.
It is the most developed in terms of infrastructure and services and has some of the most luxurious all-inclusive beach resorts in the country. From your resort, you can enjoy a range of activities, from beach volleyball to kayaking, water skiing and yacht tours.
2.- Máncora (Piura Region)

3.- Red Beach (Ica, Region)
Located in the Paracas National Reserve, Playa Roja has the most beautiful coastal scenery of all the beaches in Peru and is well worth a visit even if you can’t swim here. Nature enjoyed playing with its primary colors with the volcanic red sand, mustard yellow desert cliffs, and bright blue ocean. You will find an incredible number of marine species, such as fur seals, dolphins, Humboldt penguins and blue-footed boobies. In the town of Paracas you can enjoy swimming and kayaking, tours of the Ballestas Islands.
4.- Tuquillo (Ancash, Region)
Located approximately 4 hours north of Lima, along the famous Pan-American Highway, is a beautiful circuit of beaches called Tuquillo. The waters are aquamarine and crystal clear and the beaches have soft sand surrounded by picturesque rock formations.
Right next to Tuquillo is a small beach called La Pocita, which is called the pool of the Pacific Ocean because of its beautiful turquoise tide pools. Tuquillo beach has also been awarded an ecoplaya award (Premio Ecoplaya) for its cleanliness and conservation and currently continues to maintain that recognition.
5.- Huanchaco (Trujillo, Region)
Also considered one of the best beaches in Peru, it is also known as the birthplace of ceviche. One of the most popular beaches in Trujillo, it is located about 20 kilometers northwest of Trujillo.
This quiet beach is known for its water sports and the unusual style of fishing practiced by local fishermen. They ride the waves with a traditional fishing boat called “Caballito de Totora”. This woven boat has been used for thousands of years by the Chimú culture and is an ancient tradition among fishermen.
6.- Punta Hermosa Beach (Lima, Region)
It is located approximately one hour from Lima, it is a heavenly place. It was one of the first beaches in the south of Lima with all the facilities. It is the cradle and home of great surfing professionals (we are referring to the South of Peru), the waves that this beach receives are so high that they usually reach up to 40 feet.
It has three beaches and a small island in front. It is very frequented by Lima residents looking to relax on the beach. It has hotels and restaurants, bars, spas, etc.
7.- Costa Verde (Lima, Region)
The best place to look out over the ocean and watch the sunset in Lima is the Malecón de larcomar, a park that stretches along the city’s cliff. However, if you’re looking to get up close and personal with the waves of the Pacific, you can venture to the beach below.
The beaches on the Costa Verde don’t have much to look at and some parts are very rocky, but there are some amazing surf spots. The beaches of Miraflores and Barranco have shopping centers and restaurants, including Rosa Náutica at the end of a pier. There is also the district of Chorrillos with its local fish market, small colorful fishing boats and pelicans waiting for the fishermen to drop some of their catch.
