Inca Trail Availability 2025The Inca Trail is one of the most popular treks in the world, availability is limited. Inca Trail availability 2025 and the permits will go on sale the first week of November for 2024. Securing a permit is crucial, as they are in high demand and can sell out quickly, particularly during the peak hiking season from May to September. Each day, around 500 permits are issued, which includes not just trekkers but also guides and support staff. This limitation makes early action essential for anyone planning to Inca Trail hike.

We are a number a tour operator in the area, has daily departures for the classic Inca Trail. The 4 days and 3 nights option is the most popular, but we also have 5 days and 4 nights, 2 days and 1 night, and 6 days and 5 nights.

If the Inca Trail is fully booked, don’t be discouraged. There are several excellent alternative trekking routes available, such as the Salkantay Trek, Ancascocha Trek, Vilcabamba Trek and the Lares Trek. All of these options offer stunning scenery and unique cultural experiences, allowing you to explore the rich history of the Inca civilization without the crowds.

Permits for the Inca Trail typically go on sale in January of the year before the hiking season. For 2025, you can expect permits to be available in January 2025. It’s important to check early, as they sell out quickly.

2.- How many permits are issued each day?
About 500 permits are issued daily, including those for guides and support staff. This limited availability makes it crucial to secure your permit as soon as they are released.

3.- How do I book a permit?
Permits must be booked through a licensed tour operator. Individuals cannot book permits directly, so choose a reputable operator to handle your reservation.

4.- What if permits are sold out?
If Inca Trail permits are sold out, consider alternative treks such as the Vilcabamba Trek, Ancascocha Trek, Salkantay Trek or Lares Trek. These routes offer similar stunning landscapes and cultural experiences without the crowds.

5.- What is the cancellation policy?
If you book it soon and want to change the date or cancel it, you can only do so until the permits are released. After permits are released and we obtain and pay for them, permits are non-transferable. Therefore, a refund is not possible.

There are no official age restrictions for hiking the Inca Trail. However, younger trekkers should be physically fit, and it’s advisable to check with your tour operator for any specific recommendations.

7.- Do I need a guide?
