1.- Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción
The Inkaterra hotels were built on an old cocoa and rubber plantation, which was the land of what back in the 1950s was known as “Fundo Concepción”, an Amazonian Catholic medical mission center. Surrounded by lush, charming and serene surroundings with 819 hectares of natural rainforest, and although remote, it is only a 25 minute boat ride downriver from the town of Puerto Maldonado.

Located deep in the rainforest, located on a 200 hectare private reserve within the buffer zone of the Tambopata National Reserve, the lodge is secluded and private. It takes approximately two hours to travel from Puerto Maldonado by car and a short 1 hour boat ride to reach the lodge.

The Tambopata Research Center is located in the primary forest of the Tambopata Reserve in front of the Bahuaja Sonene National Park in Madre de Dios. The wildlife here is exceptional and here you have the best chance of seeing some of the rarest and most endemic animals in the world.
Accommodation is on a full board basis, and the common areas are spacious and mostly open plan. The rooms have open views of the surrounding forest and the bedrooms are separated from each other by light reed fences and curtains instead of doors.
