Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Salt Mine – Moray – Cusco.

Highlight of the Day: Discover the remarkable Inca terraces of Moray and the traditional Maras Salt Mines while exploring the scenic landscapes of the Sacred Valley.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 8:20 a.m. and continue our journey through the stunning Sacred Valley. Our first stop will be the charming town of Chinchero (3,700 m/12,343 ft), a place where Andean culture intertwines with Inca history.

Here, you will have the opportunity to visit an alpaca farm and a weaving center, where local artisans create colorful textiles and handicrafts using ancestral techniques. We will also explore the Inca ruins scattered throughout the town, offering a glimpse into the region’s rich past.

Next, we will head to Moray (3,800 m/12,467 ft), an archaeological site known for its circular agricultural terraces. Walking among these terraces, you can imagine how the Incas experimented with crops and microclimates to cultivate food in the highlands.

After visiting Moray, we will descend to the Maras Salt Mines (3,200 m/10,090 ft). Here we’ll see over 3,000 salt pans on the hillside, each one still cared for and maintained by local families using traditional methods. It’s a unique opportunity to witness a living tradition that has endured for centuries.

After enjoying the scenery and taking photos, we’ll return to Cusco, arriving around 3:00 p.m. This half-day tour is packed with cultural experiences, breathtaking views, and hands-on activities that bring the history and traditions of the Sacred Valley to life.
